Product Marketing at Drift - About the team 

The Drift Product Marketing team is responsible for being the voice of the customer internally enabling us to inform product roadmap and bring new products to market through differentiated messaging, collateral, sales enablement, customer engagement, and cross-functional marketing activation.

We’re growing our Product Marketing team to align with the expansion of our product portfolio, key segments, and growth of our business. As an Associate Product Marketing Manager you will support and grow our competitive intelligence program globally, across our entire product portfolio.  

This role operates at the intersection of product, sales, marketing, and customer success. Our ideal candidate is a compelling storyteller, and analytics thinker, obsessed with understanding our competition to help sales better position our value with simple differentiated messaging. You will live the customer journey and help us define future innovation that differentiates us from the competition. 

What you’ll be doing on the team

  • Own and execute Drift’s competitive center of excellence, including…
  • Analyze and understand our competitors’ products, strategic direction and messaging
  • Assess risk and opportunity for our business
  • Identify areas of differentiation and develop messaging, collateral and strategies to uniquely position our brand and solutions
  • Build programs and collateral and regularly share this intelligence to cross-functional stakeholders and distribute across our internal systems/platforms
  • Build and deliver differentiated messaging to improve our win rate
  • Work strategically with Sales and Sales operations to create high-impact content to highlight and share across the business
  • Work strategically with Sales Productivity to create and deliver a world-class enablement program
  • Partner with the Demand Generation team to tell compelling stories and messages that help us differentiate against the competition 
  • Measure impact, but tracking win rates and pipeline influenced by your competitive content

What skills you will bring to the job:

    • Demonstrated experience in product marketing that includes messaging and positioning, competitive analysis and positioning, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and market research.
    • 2+ years experience delivering compelling product marketing results 
    • Experience collaborating effectively with Sales, Customer Success, Enablement, Design,& Demand Generation teams  to achieve results 
  • Superb excellent written and oral communication skills. 
  • SaaS/ technical product marketing experience required

In one month you'll:

  • Spend your first week onboarding, learning all things Drift
  • Learn the Product, GTM motion, Philosophy, and who your key stakeholders are
  • Proactively reach out to your stakeholders in 1:1’s to understand their needs and the business
  • Listen to Gong customer calls
  • Share your 30 day point of view to the PMM team

By month 3 you'll  

  • Work closely with product management, sales, and enablement partners to develop internal and external content.
  • Craft compelling positioning and messaging for Drift, showcasing differentiation from from competitors
  • Own and manage the Deal Win Program
    • Work strategically with Sales, Sales operations, and Sales Productivity to create high-impact content to highlight and share across the business
  • Own and manage the Competitive Center of Excellence 
    • Create competitive content that scales and helps Sellers improve their win rate
    • Work strategically with Sales Productivity to create and deliver a world-class enablement program
    • Own content development and distribution across our Competitive Intelligence  platform (Klue) and CMS (HighSpot)
    • Partner with the Demand Generation team to tell compelling stories and messages that help us differentiate against the competition 

By month 6 you'll

  • Help drive pipeline for Drift products  by developing sales plays, presentations, content, and campaigns for sales teams across the company.
  • Be responsible for creating compelling content and messages specifically by segment, persona, and verticals, as well as sales tools and content that support our GTM teams and partners worldwide.
  • Measure impact, but tracking win rates and pipeline influenced by your competitive content.
