We’re looking for a Social Media Associate to focus on directly engaging with the MongoDB Developer Community through our social media channels. You will report directly to the Sr. Social Media Engagement Manager and work closely with the rest of the Social Media Team to respond to the community in real time on social media. This is a unique opportunity for someone who has deep empathy for developers and a background working directly with customers or the public to resolve technical issues.  

This role can be based out of our Sydney office or remotely in the Australia region.

What you’ll do

  • Monitor and respond to posts about MongoDB on networks including Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube and others
  • Work with the rest of the social media team to help in the planning and development of promotional campaigns and initiatives
  • Assist other MongoDB employees with best practices on social media and help communicate company social media policies
  • Reflect the brand voice and company values in all communications, exhibiting empathy, and a genuine desire to assist others

Who you are

  • Someone with a love for technology and a passion for learning new things
  • A great communicator who can handle tough conversations while exhibiting empathy and patience
  • Great at working independently and within a tightly knit team environment
  • Experienced working directly with customers to solve problems
  • Comfortable with fast-paced work and cool in a crisis
  • Someone with 1+ years of experience in technical support roles preferably with experience with social media, live chat, or ticket based systems
