The database market is massive (IDC estimates it to be $121B+ by 2025!) and MongoDB is at the head of its disruption. At MongoDB we are transforming industries and empowering developers to build amazing apps that people use every day. We are the leading modern data platform and the first database provider to IPO in over 20 years. Join our team and be at the forefront of innovation and creativity.
MongoDB, as a database software and consistently voted the #1 most wanted database preferred by developers, is continuing to attract the most demanding, innovative companies and development teams in enterprise software.
To meet this demand, we are looking for a passionate technical expert in the retail industry to join our growing remote/flexible, globally-dispersed Industry Solutions Team. Our objective is to align MongoDB as an industry solution and ensure we understand enterprise clients and their needs to modernize software legacies, transition to modernized solutions, and guide them through continuous data-driven modernization. This particular role will be retail-focused, so we’re seeking someone preferably who has worked for a retail organization or on retail-related software, and willing to keep their thumb on the pulse of one of the most technologically innovative industries.
MongoDB Industry Solutions Principals are the most senior members of the team and work directly with the C-Suite of our clients and partners. They are the subject matter experts of each industry, delivering thought leadership and practical directions in industry-specific data challenges. This involves generating content (i.e. webinars, white papers, blogs, events, presentations, etc.) on industry-specific solutions, in this case retail. The second leg of this role is direct account engagements with major enterprise and government clients, to help business leaders see the vision of how MongoDB is the right approach for their industry’s challenges, wants, and needs. These responsibilities require a happy medium of technical knowledge as well as people, presentation, and thought leadership skills. MongoDB Principals are the senior team members communicating the trends and direction of MongoDB’s platform to customers, partners and participate in industry forums and standardization efforts (e.g. OMG/NRF retail data modelling). The team is very hands-on and our responsibilities range from early research into future solutions, collaboration with external partners and generating materials for sales teams to ensure success when interacting with clients. Superb communication and presentation skills are a paramount prerequisite.
You'll work closely with a broad variety of functions inside the whole company, ranging from product, partners, marketing and sales. You will play a key role in winning deals and driving the business forward and will be a trusted advisor to a wide range of clients from startups to the world's largest enterprise IT organizations. Your core focus is the understanding of the fast moving space of industry standards, cloud compliance, regulators and boards around the world.
The location for this role is quite flexible but will be based in Europe with a preference for Barcelona.
This role is remote optional until 4 April, 2022, we are looking to speak to candidates who plan to be available in Barcelona for when we introduce our hybrid model.
