What Asana is looking for in applicants

We’re seeking an experienced, product-driven engineer to help build an entirely new way for colleagues to facilitate collaboration within Asana. We’re driven by our mission to help humanity thrive, and are looking for engineers who care deeply about the products they create and have a passion for improving the way that millions of teams work together.

As a key member of our Enterprise Growth team, you’ll work on a new product feature designed to help team leads guide their colleagues in the successful use of Asana. Our aim is to provide the most active and influential Asana users a set of tools to ensure their colleagues use Asana in accordance with the standards and customs established at each company. This suite of tools will range from basic moderation to machine-learning powered content promotion and the ability to create custom experiences for each team within Asana.

This is a greenfield project that will provide ample opportunity for you to impact the way that people work together. You’ll help define the technical strategy, work with Product Management and Design to tackle tricky edge cases, and drive implementation through our MVP and beyond. And as a part of our division focused on the Enterprise market, you’ll play a key role in Asana’s continued expansion into our fastest-growing market segment.

Enterprise Growth does full stack work, so you should be comfortable working on the UI and in the backend. You’ll work closely with our team of Designers, User Researchers, and of course a top-notch engineering team as you iterate to ensure the success of our projects. We’re looking for outstanding people anywhere to help us innovate and scale, and we offer relocation.

What you’ll achieve

  • Build a new way for team leads to help their colleagues collaborate effectively
  • Participate in every step of the product development process with an open and curious team and lead large projects from design to completion
  • Mentor your peers as you work, including through code review – and be mentored by our roster of experienced engineers and Engineering Managers as you grow your own career
  • Have fun every day. We believe the best work is done in a supportive and engaging environment, so we try to bring fun into the life of the team whenever possible

About you

  • A strong product sense and passion for product engineering –  you help spot gaps in what you receive from your PM, and raise opportunities to improve product functionality
  • Able to independently lead implementation of a months-long project from design handoff to launch
  • 4+ years of experience working within a large codebase
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with other teams
  • Sound judgment when balancing moving quickly with producing quality code and long-term code maintainability
  • Appreciate productivity and care deeply about helping teams collaborate more effectively and efficiently, including your own
  • Excited to be a part of an inclusive culture where everyone brings their whole selves to work
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • [Bonus] You’ve helped drive adoption of an internal software framework at your company
