Specifically, we’re looking for an experienced privacy program manager to join our growing  privacy team. This role requires someone with expertise and experience with global privacy laws.  This is a great opportunity to work closely with other business and technical stakeholders to further build out Asana’s Privacy Team and help scale a global privacy program in a mission-driven company. We are looking for a team player who brings a thoughtful, pragmatic mindset to solving problems. This role reports to Asana’s Privacy Lead, who also serves as our Data Protection Officer.

What you’ll achieve

  • Manage projects related to ongoing compliance with privacy and data protection laws 
  • Help develop, maintain, and scale processes, policies, standards, and playbooks that support global privacy and data protection program
  • Oversee privacy awareness and training resources and partner closely with privacy counsel to develop a training program 
  • Oversee and manage Asana’s existing privacy operations team
  • Help Asana grow globally by supporting and scaling global privacy initiatives
  • Utilize project management and communication skills to help define scope, requirements, analyze data, and develop strategic recommendations for program and operational execution
  • Develop and maintain the monitoring and reporting on the ongoing initiatives of the privacy program
  • Drive greater consistency of process, practices, and execution across company-wide privacy workstreams
  • Partner with the DPO to enhance privacy compliance initiatives 
  • Work closely with privacy team members to develop a privacy governance strategy, monitoring, and auditing plan
  • Where possible, help develop privacy compliance solutions using Asana
  • Be an ambassador and evangelist for privacy at Asana

About you

  • 7+ years experience in program management
  • 3+ years experience in privacy program management
  • 2+ years experience managing and growing a team
  • Exceptional project management skills
  • You love privacy-related work and view protecting privacy rights not as a compliance obligation, but as the right thing to do
  • Knowledge or experience with privacy regulations and industry standards, such as GDPR, CCPA, and the ePrivacy Directive.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work cross-functionally and globally with stakeholders across the company to build out and managing frameworks and processes
  • Comfortable with technology and relevant technology terminology
  • Track record of taking initiative, having the ability to work independently, handle multiple projects with competing deadlines 
  • Proven experience leading cross-organizational programs by holding teams and individuals accountable to timelines and deliverables
  • CIPP, CIPM, or CIPT preferred, but not required
