As a Creative Marketing Director at Pocket Gems, you'll help define all of our outward facing creative work and play a huge part in building the visual identity of our games. You’ll lead our creative marketing team, which is a combination of internal artists and art managers, external vendors, and contractors, and you’ll partner closely with performance and product marketing, as well as our game teams. In doing this, you’ll create unforgettable moments that connect players with great Pocket Gems’ games they’ll love.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead Pocket Gems’ creative marketing team, inspiring and guiding our internal team and external vendors 
  • Partner with performance marketing to assess the performance of ads and other assets, using that information to refine future ads and improve that performance
  • Develop a deep understanding of the audiences of each of our games
  • Work with performance and product marketing as well as our game teams to define our game brands and creative strategies
  • Lead concept brainstorming and other creative ideation to generate unforgettable ad concepts and other ways to reach perspective players
  • Lead creation and production of high-quality marketing ads and other assets using a combination of internal team members and external vendors and contractors

 

What You’ll Bring to the Marketing Team:

  • 10+ years of professional experience in creative marketing
  • 3+ years creative leadership experience in a management position, leading a collaborative team environment & mentoring other artists
  • Experience using ad campaign data to assess the performance of creatives
  • Expert knowledge of Photoshop and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong understanding of graphic design principles and sensibilities 
  • Ability to communicate ideas and concepts using shape and silhouette
  • Experience with task management and scheduling for major creative projects, including managing multiple different creative pipelines at the same time
  • Experience managing multiple external vendors and creative studios
  • Able to work within multiple art styles and themes
  • BFA, MFA, art degree, or equivalent experience as a professional artist
  • Comfortable manipulating and resizing finished mobile ads 
  • Portfolio demonstrating:
    • expert graphic design portfolio, exercising strong compositional skills
    • excellent typography treatment examples
    • examples showing work in a variety of different graphic styles - showcasing palette, subject matter, and layout
    • Entertainment-specific ads - mobile/web/social media

  • Experience in a performance-focused marketing of mobile games

  • Brand style guide construction and development
