We’re looking for an experienced communications professional with social media management experience to become a trusted leader within our Digital Marketing team. This person will report directly to the Senior Director, Content Marketing and be responsible for strategic development and execution of key strategic social media initiatives and projects that support and build our brand in the eyes of both our global community and key audiences.

This role can be based out of our New York City office or remotely in North America.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop, own, and manage the company's global organic social media strategy, helping us grow fans and followers, increasing brand awareness and demand generation
  • Work across the marketing and creative teams to develop compelling assets (photo, graphic, video, etc.) for key campaigns that will promote brand growth and channel health
  • Provide cohesive leadership and expertise to both the technical engagement and creative content teams within the function.
  • Ensure that our voice is present in other relevant social platforms/channels not owned by MongoDB
  • Prepare presentations and communicate progress against the team’s goals to company stakeholders
  • Work with the executive team and developer relations to bring their own brands to life across social media
  • Collaborate with fellow leaders across Sales, Marketing, Developer Relations, Campaigns, Growth, HR, Engineering, Product, Corporate Communications, and other teams to ensure clear and consistent messaging for new products, promotions, channels, features, events, and more
  • Anticipate and initiate reporting and analysis and deliver results and feedback to cross-functional stakeholders, helping to drive data-driven decisions
  • Optimize and test messages and content on organic channels. 
  • Provide mentorship and leadership to globally distributed social media team members consisting of both social content and engagement managers
  • Stay on top of social trends that are MongoDB-appropriate and determine quick, best ways for MongoDB to respond.
  • Work as part of the larger crisis communications team to guide its members and the company on how to engage (or not) in response to a reputational crisis

Who You Are

  • A proven track record developing and executing creative, innovative, integrated social marketing campaigns.
  • Passion for social media and fluency with platforms/features (and algorithm changes)  on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, and additional social platforms. Experience working with international audiences and platforms is ideal
  • 6-8 years of experience in technology social media, preferably at high-growth SaaS companies; bonus points if you have database / developer experience
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to determine how to enhance social communities and drive content performance across channels.
  • Prior experience successfully managing a global team
  • Detail-oriented with excellent copywriting skills and a strong commitment to making sure MongoDB's brand tone and voice are upheld across all social media channels
  • Experience collaborating with senior stakeholders across developer relations, partners, engineering, marketing, product, C-suite, HR, and more
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to set priorities, multi-task, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with experience managing multiple projects with competing priorities in a calm and efficient manner
  • Outstanding integrity and ethical standards
  • Experience working with (or in) a customer service function at a tech company
